Just sold The Alley.  I love the colors in this painting - from a photo reference of a driveway - I added the trash can.  It took the collectors a while to figure out if they could "get past the can." I am glad they decided they could.

Just finished this painting, "Guarding the Canyon" - such fun.  Reference was an old  photo from the beautiful Arizona landscape.

Spent a great three days painting in Fall City, WA and the Seattle docks.  The sun was in and out - the hat was on and off - crazy value chasing.

I am not sure what I was thinking when I painted these fuchsias - they were always a favorite of my dear George - they sold to a collector of my work recently  - I must admit, I was sorry to see them go.

I have spent the last few weeks in New York - surrounded by trees and great light.  This piece sold to a collector of my work a few weeks ago.  Always nice to know where parts of us live.

"It's All Uphill"

I am thrilled that my painting below, "In the Depths," was featured in the recent Seattle Arboretum publication.  They were going to select the oil - then I did this one in water media, the orientation was better for the format of the publication.  It was such fun to paint.

A friend sent me a wonderful photo of a pond at the Seattle Arboretum.  I was fascinated by the reflections - it took me forever to get where I wanted them. 

"A New Day"

I have been in NYC for a few weeks - so good to have family close by.  I painted "On a Day Like This," from a photo I took in Central Park - the colors right now are amazing.

For the first time in a very long time, I am excited about painting again and I think it shows.

Sold, "Sunrise over Vashon Island" - to a dear friend in CA, who is missing her NW roots.  When I painted this the smokey haze was making all the sunrise and sunset colors more vibrant.

More flowers from the garden - I have been drawn over and over again this summer to the garden and trying to capture the vibrant blooms - they will be gone too soon.  Early Light 

I have spent a lot of time in the garden this summer - these are some of my favorite paintings.  Trying to paint fuchsias is really crazy making.  I have lots of the baskets - so I took photos from all angles.

"Spring" was painted when all the lilac and rhodies were in bloom.

"The Only Way Out is Always Through" -  based on the Frost poem that has kept me going these past two years.

These three paintings sold last weekend - making me realize once again that my inventory is too low.  I am working on a very large gardenscape in a more abstract style than in the past.

George and I spent many happy years in the Arizona Sun - I had that in mind when I painted "Sun Seeker."  This painting just sold to a collector in the Northwest - who I assume is always seeking sun.

It has been several months since I posted.  I have been painting sporadically.  Most recently, to try and get the brushes moving again I have turned to abstracts - using a theme of windows.  I am pleased with the results, two below.  I love color and these show that.

Sold, "GLOW" - one of my favorite paintings, to a collector in Pennsylvania.  This painting was done using a palette knife - I wanted so many times to pick up a brush - but I didn't.  Happy it has a new home.

Sold, "Nocturne" to a 13 year old who wanted it for her birthday present.  Her Mom was amazing and appreciated her daughter's taste in art.  Love having a young collector.

Snoqualamie last weekend - last time I painted this view George was with me - off with his camera while I played with my brushes.  This view and place is special to me.

Been painting roses in the garden before they lose all their petals.  Fall will be here soon.

Just off the easel - "Sunrise over Vashon Island."  24" x 30" Oil.  This is the first painting I have done in 11 months.  It felt good to get the paints out again and George really did help paint this one.  We have had a lot of smokey air in the NW the last few weeks - all the colors - sunrise, sunset, moon, are much more intense than normal.
